Yesteryear
Come December
Cold, food, vegetables
Christmas, fun fare
Solstice
(I) Love you winter
Shivering yet so much alive
Is my every pore
For you.
(I) Love the grandeur
Of farewell
Amid fire crackers
And toasts.
(I) Love you bonfires,
Brilliant yellow
Cosy hands,
In search of comfort.
(I) Love taking vows
Safe home for women and children,
Now, ashes from fire flutters
Broken promises afloat.
In my very next door
Children die from frost
Deflowered women lie on concrete,
Awash with tears like pearl.
Yesteryear promises repeat
Mourn?
Yes,
Candles, I love to protest.

The very compatible words have been used to hit the human weakness.
Thank you Sangeeta, welcome to my blog.
Lovely…
Preethi, thank you so much.
The lines are perfectly woven to give the desired effect ! wonderful !
🙂 Thanks Maniparna.
Yes a lot of truth in your lines. For promises to be kept, we need to speak of. articulate and continue to focus on those things that we really mean & want and not discuss those things which are good fodder for an engaging conversation
Rajeev, thank you so much…..
i can feel those words. lovely composition.
Thank you so much – I am glad that you could relate to it.
There are always two sides to a coin while most of us only look at the happy side there is so much sorrow also around. Loved the way you brought out both the sides.
Thanks Athena, you have always been a great support. Your words mean a lot to me.
