The day and you, my child

Amid shower of laughter, for no reason
My delusions come alive and walk around,
In tiny aimless steps.

A day is not just a day, or more than that,
On its own; Yet, from an inner calling,
Can be extraordinary.

Tears of pearl, calm as smooth water
Drifts through memories,
Incoherently.

It’s not with every sunrise, that I perceive light differently
From the warmth and heartfelt joy, and
Feel resurrected.

The tangible pleasure is more than words
Today, my child, you remind me
That a father was born.

It was today’s date (7th Nov) when my daughter was born a year ago but sadly I am thousands of miles apart from her on this day. Happy Birthday Rupu, I am sure you will read this someday and know what you mean to me.

  1. Mostly when I read poetry about kids its from the mothers angle, saw the fathers angle today. Amazing the kind of changes that come in men when they become fathers. The pride when they see their kids, the love when they all play together, its just priceless. I guess this is why nature decided that each child needed a father and a mother, both are vital.

    • Well yes, that is something I have noticed myself and there aren’t many – so I started writing for my daughter – ever since my wife was expecting. I hope to write more on her πŸ™‚

  2. Your daughter, when she will grow up will be proud that her father was such an amazing writer πŸ™‚
And most importantly, she will be at sheer bliss to know that she was loved so much O:)
By the way, she is really cute πŸ™‚ May GOD bless her O:)

  3. I really can assure you,When she Grow Up and read this..She will be so happy and proud to know that her father wrote such beautiful lines for her even before she was able to read.. πŸ˜€
